Eat Like a Local: Underrated Restaurants in Turks and Caicos

Updated: Jun 18, 2022

Hole in the Wall

Location: Old Airport Road, Turks & Caicos Islands

Tucked off of the old airport road is Hole in the Wall, a restaurant that lives up to its name. This Jamaican-inspired restaurant serves up jerk chicken and pork that has to be tasted to be believed.

My personal choice: Jerk Pork

Tiny's Restaurant and Cafe

Location: Leeward Highway, Long Bay Hills, Turks & Caicos Islands

Not far from Grace Bay is the aptly named Tiny's, named after the 6’3” owner. Situated in the corner of a convenience store, so be careful not to miss it! Though, you would be forgiven for passing it on your way from Long Bay to Grace Bay. Make sure to stop by for an island style breakfast or lunch.

My personal choice: Beef Stew with Peas and Rice

Caribbean Cuisine

Location: Airport Road, Providenciales, Turks And Caicos Islands

One of the first restaurants you pass in Provo and you probably don’t know it. Caribbean Cuisine is on Airport Road and serves Trinidadian style rotis and curries. Run by the lovely Doreen, the restaurant does a busy lunch trade, as can be seen by the to-go traffic that comes through from 12-2 PM. As is always a good sign that the food is all fresh and when it’s gone for the day, it is gone!

My personal choice: Pumpkin Roti

The Pork Shack

Late night bites in Grace Bay don’t get any better than The Pork Shack. Located on Seven Stars Road the Pork Shack is a busy spot, particularly after 10pm. A great casual spot to finish up a night out.

My personal choice: The Pork Sandwich

Froggie’s Food Truck

Location: Heaving Down Rock , Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands

Fresh food by the water ✅ At Provo’s newest Food Truck you can get all the local favourites right before and after getting the ferry to North or South Caicos. Enjoy conch salad while local fishermen unload their daily catch at Heaving Down Rock.

My personal choice: Conch Salad
